On Sunday 24^th November the Hertfordshire Archery Association held their Open Team Championships in Redbourn, Hemel Hempstead.  This event is shot over 5 dozen arrows, at 18metres on a 40cm face.  On the day Barbara Anscombe was 2^nd Lady Recurve and Ray Choy and Barry Anscombe were the 2^nd Gent Compound Team.

2002 has been the 50^th anniversary year of the Hertfordshire Archery Association.  To mark this milestone, the county decided to award Victor Ludorum trophies in order to recognise the best all round archers.  To qualify for the special one-off trophies, archers had to compete in 3 county events; the Indoor Championships, The Outdoor Championships and the Clout.  Points were awarded by position achieved at each event, the highest number of points being most successful.

The Victor Ludorum trophies were awarded at the Team Championships.  Barbara Anscombe was 1^st in the Ladies Recurve bow category, whilst in the Gent Compound category Barry Anscombe was 2^nd and Ray Choy was 4^th.
