Members of Berkhamsted Bowmen took to the field this weekend to take part in a tournament of traditional longbow archery. At stake was the Lloyds Longbow Trophy, a Pewter Drinking Vessel donated to the club many years ago by Mr. S. Rosser, the then Manager of the Berkhamsted Branch of the Lloyds Bank. On this occasion the trophy was won by the club president Mr. Alan Poole. Though Alan had previously won this trophy on many occasions, this is a return of the trophy to Alan after a gap of two years. Second place was taken by Mrs. Karen Freeman. During the awards presentation held after the event the club was also pleased to announce that Mr. John Durrant had won the Carol Dixon Memorial Summer Season Trophy. This is a handicap trophy awarded on the basis of the three best handicap rounds shot during the season.
