BERKHAMSTED BOWMEN LADIES LEAD THE WAY
Berkhamsted Bowmen Lady archers have had success recently in two county events.
The County Western event is aimed at archers in their first or second year of shooting. Attendees aim at targets at 60 and 50 yards, shooting a total of 8 dozen arrows. Berkhamsted Bowmen member Jeannette Empson won the Lady Recurve 2nd class category. Jeannette has only been shooting with the club, since January 2003.
The following week, club members attended the Starlight shoot in Ware. This event starts at 8pm and the field is illuminated by floodlights. A total of 5 dozen arrows are shot at targets 60 yards away. This year 2 Berkhamsted Bowmen ladies, won their categories. Neena Durrant won the Lady Compound and Barbara Anscombe won the Lady Recurve. Male club members were not totally without success, as all 8 club attendees managed to win a raffle prize as well.
