Members of Berkhamsted Bowmen meet together recently for the Sir John Raven shoot on the outdoor range at Cowroast. This is traditionally the first target trophy day of the Summer session. On this occasion there were four trophies awarded.
The Sir John Raven Hunting Horn Trophy is awarded for the most hits on the day by an archer shooting a recurve bow. This year the prize was won by Paul Dunn.
In the Junior Recurve Bow catagory a Mounted Horn Trophy is similarly awarded for the most hits on the day. This year the prize was won by Tom Clarke (a young man in his first session with the club).
The Compound archers shoot for a Pewter Salver. This is awarded for the most golds shot on the day. This time the trophy was won by Neena Durrant.
The last prize of the day was the Engraved Crystal Plaque. This is awarded to the best aggregate handicap adjusted score for a family team of archers related by marriage, blood or adoption. This year the trophy was won by Andrew Clarke and his young son Tom Clarke who beat the nearest opposition by over 40 points. |
