Herts Champs 2nd Place for Berkhamsted Junior Archer

The Hertfordshire Archery Association held the 2004 County and Open Indoor Championships on Sunday 8th February at Marlborough School, St Albans. Berkhamsted Bowmen fielded a total of 11 archers in all, entering teams in both the Recurve and Compound classes for the first time in a number of years.

The most notable Berkhamsted Bowmen result of the day was achieved by 10 year old Tom Clark who took second place in the Junior Boy Recurve class. This was Tom's first competition.  It was a very well deserved success and the club hope he will continue in this way in the years to come.

In addition to Tom's success Barbara Anscombe became Lady Champion taking first place in the Lady Recurve class.  While her husband, Barry, took third place in the Gents Compound class.

At the end of the day, during the awards ceremony, the Berkhamsted Bowmen Compound Team (Barry Anscombe, Rob Ient, Ray Choy and Bob Gasking) also received medals for taking first place in the 2003 Summer Postal League.
